Jaypee Institute of Information Technology (JIIT), is a renowned institute in north India accredited by NAAC, approved by AICTE and ranked by NIRF, Government of India offers full time and part time Ph. D. program in Mathematics under different specializations.
Any candidate who has a (i) 1 Year/2-semester master’s degree after a 4-year/8-semester bachelor’s degree or a 2-year/4-semester master’s degree after a 3-year bachelor’s degree in respective discipline with 60% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA or (ii) 4-year/8-semester bachelor’s degree with 75% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA or (iii) M.Phil. with 60% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA in relevant discipline is eligible for PhD in Mathematics. A relaxation of 5% marks is provided for SC/ST (non-creamy layer) and Differently Abled category. The candidates appearing in the final year examination of qualifying degree can also apply to this program. Such candidates are required to submit marksheet of the qualifying degree on or before the date of registration.
A candidate can apply for this PhD. program in Mathematics online at www.getadmissions.com. An entrance test for the eligible candidates is conducted at JIIT Noida campus and the candidates qualifying the entrance test need to appear before the Interview board. The candidates shortlisted on the basis of merit in Ph. D. entrance test conducted by JIIT are called for the interview. Also, the candidates who have qualified for fellowship of UGC-NET/CSIR (JRF) or equivalent national level examination are directly called for interview.
JIIT supports deserving full time scholars of the Ph. D. program in Mathematics financially and provides them fellowship in the form of Research/Teaching Assistantship for a selected period of time. The department has a strong and dedicated team of faculty members having expertise in various areas of pure and applied Mathematics, Statistics, and Operations Research. The key research areas areas of Ph. D. program in Mathematics are: Differential Equations (Numerical methods, Computational continuum mechanics, Vibration analysis, Mathematical modelling etc.), Fuzzy set theory, Soft computing and applications, Image Processing, Machine Learning, Mathematical analysis (Functional Analysis, Fixed point theory, Fractals, Frames, Special functions, Fractional calculus, etc.), Optimization Techniques, Operations Research (Queuing theory, Reliability, etc.) Probability, Statistics and Information theory.
